| NAME: Kazuki Fuuchouin

| APPEARANCE: Kazuki has a slight form for a man his age - he's barely 5'6", with curves along the waist and hips that seem more suited for a woman's body than a man's. Combined with his long hair - well below waist-length in the front, slightly shorter with bangs in the front - it's easy to mistake him for a teenaged girl. His mannerisms and the way he holds himself also match more traditionally feminine forms when he's relaxed. He's quick to smile and laugh, and shows his emotions fairly readily. His voice, however, while soft-spoken, is fairly easily to identify as male.
When he fights, the cheerful smile is quickly replaced by a cold, honed determination. He's still graceful, but it's a precise, deadly grace - a dance of death. He flips between the two states easily.
He usually dresses fairly casually, unless there's a special occasion - hip-hugging jeans that were never quite new, sneakers, and flowing tops, both long and short-sleeved.
| AU CONCEPT & HISTORY: In New Babylon, the Fuuchouin family was insular, of fairly high social standing. Their main compound was on Level 7, and it was there they trained family members and the few outsiders they deemed worthy in the graceful, subtle fighting style, relying on the use of monofilament razor wire concealed inside otherwise ordinary objects like bells, that the family leaders had perfected over generations. Members were also expected to be thoroughly educated, both in book learning, as well as in politics and social graces - they would be operating in the highest levels of society, and it would be unseemly to stand out. To many of the other residentss of Level 7, they were simply insular eccentrics, with a penchant for pre-Babylon traditions and ephemera. To those in power, though, the Fuuchouin were a mercenary family, loyalty bought and sold. They were skilled, deadly assassins, and particularly sought after as bodyguards - after all, someone who is a quick, skilled fighter with out the obvious weapons or tells of one, who can handle social situations with grace makes an ideal companion for those who don’t wish to be seen with security in public. And it was the role of the family head to decide what contracts to take, who to send where, how to invest the family’s earnings to their best advantage, and how to train the next generation of Fuuchouin.

Kazuki was one of these students, excelling at his studies, and mastering much of the family’s techniques at a very young age. Compounded with his polite but assertive nature, he was shaping up to be an ideal leader for his family.

Whether it was a contract gone sour or simply a rival who felt they had too much power, Kazuki does not know - but what he does know is that he awoke one night to the sounds of fighting within their walled compound. He rushed out to find students and family alike slaughtered en masse. Running through the compound, he found his mother, seriously injured and on the verge of death. She urged her son to run, run as far as he could, and hide, so that the Fuuchouin family would not die there on that night.
Kazuki did as he was told, slipping through the night down into the lower levels of the arcology with nothing but his weapons and the clothes he’d been wearing. While he had some access to the family’s monetary resources, he knew accessing them would be as good as giving himself away to his family’s enemies, so he survived on wits and skill, carving out a home for himself on L2 and L3. His reputation as a fighter spread among the petty thugs who tried to rough up a small, girlish child, and in the years following, his personality drew others like himself to him, to make a home together in the underworld of New Babylon. Still, though, he hasn’t forgotten the attack on his family, and in his own subtle ways has been trying for years to find out who attacked his family, and why, with the goal of revenge and reasserting his place as a Fuuchouin.
| PERSONALITY: Kazuki has two faces - the one he shows his friends, and the one he shows his enemies. To his enemies, Kazuki is utterly cold and ruthless - even when fighting in anger, it's an icy anger. Killing brings with it very little guilt or hesitation with it, though no pleasure either - it's simply a necessity, something that must be done. This apparent lack of empathy earned him the nickname of 'Prince of Terror'.
To his friends, however, Kazuki is an entirely different person. With those he trusts, Kazuki wears his heart on his sleeve. Happiness, frustration, disappointment - all are easy to read on him. When he gives his trust and loyalty to someone, he gives it absolutely. Betrayals, conflicts - he is quick to forgive and welcome people back to him. He's also highly inquisitive, both to his benefit and his detriment. He's good at sussing out information, but occasionally it leads him to stepping into trouble.
His training as a child was designed to ready him to lead the clan, and even in the absence of the politics and structure of the upper world, Kazuki is still skilled as a leader. His charisma draws like-minded people to him, and he's good at carefully directing them in ways that use their capabilities to the best effect. As the same time, though, this nature leads him to a certain degree of blind self-centeredness - he's used to having others follow him without question, and sometimes he doesn't notice their needs.
Despite his appearances, his mannerisms are not particularly feminine, though neither are they overtly masculine. They do, however, tend to betray his upper-level upbringing, and he carries himself with a certain degree of grace, which puts him somewhat at odds with his lower-class surroundings, sometimes.
| POWERS & ABILITIES: Kazuki is faster and more agile than most humans, care of a combination of genetic tampering in his family line, and more direct nervous-system bioware implanted when he was young. He also has some skeletal and muscular enhancements that leave him stronger than his very slight form would usually indicate. He’s trained in his family’s fighting form nearly from birth, and as such is adept at manipulating his wires to cut, bind, or block enemy attacks.
Kazuki is also trained in some of the more traditional Japanese arts, as well - archaic, now, but still valued by his family for the skill and beauty they possess. These include things such as koto playing (a skill which also serves as practice for his martial arts) and flower arrangement.
| ECONOMIC STANDING, EQUIPMENT & PETS: Kazuki has high social standing in certain circles - ironically, the very highest classes and the very lowest - on the basis of his family name and his reputation as a fighter. While the Fuuchouin family is fairly well off, he himself doesn’t have access to most of those resources, and doesn’t have a safe method of accessing what he does have. As such, he mostly earns things through barter on the lower levels - generally, protection from other gangs in exchange for food, clothing, a place to live. The only nice things he owns are his weapons - sets of gold-alloy bells with monofil wire hidden inside that he wears in his hair when he’s not actively fighting.
